May 9, 2010 – Vegetable Garden

Vegetable garden planted! First try a growing much of anything, so well see how it works out.

Veggies inclue: tomatoes (6), green peppers (5), sweet peas, carrots, basil, mint, oregano, yellow squash, acorn squash, cucumbers, watermellon, jalapeños, sweet banana peppers and cayenne peppers.

We had a few more things we sprouted from seed, but they’re not growing and it’s already way too late in the season for them to be that small.

Learning a lot so far though. Probably start earlier next season (started in March rather than Jan/feb), dig a little deeper for the tomatoes and spead them farther apart. Surely have a lot more to learn still, but well see how the veggies come in when planted this late (some things were planted months ago, but filled out more today).
