Day 3: Gwangmyeong Cave Tour
Exploring the Gwangmyeong Cave Tour.
By Adam Fortuna
While looking for unique things to do in Seoul, the Gwangmyeong Cave came up. It’s an old mine that was turned into an amusement park. It’s a fun way of turning a dead cave into a living one – bringing in a rainbow of colors and new life.
We didn’t have much time to explore and see much – only 45 minutes. If you want to see everything, I’d budget about 2 hours. When researching the cave, we saw that they only accept cash – so be make sure you have some on hand.
The cave itself is campy. The most exciting parts were the colorful lights and projections timed to music.
If considering going, I’d honestly recommend against it unless you’re already in the area.
We finished up the tour and our driver took us back to our hotel. We enjoyed some oxbone soup and rested up, ready to go vintage shopping and enjoy spicy stir fried chicken.
